Privacy Policy
📷 In solo and Daily games, your photos stay on your device. TimeStamp! reads when each photo was taken. In Party Mode, small thumbnails of the round's photos are shared through our server so everyone in the room can see them. Details below.
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Andrew Maxwell ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the TimeStamp! iOS app. It explains what the app accesses, what leaves your device, who can see it, and how long it's kept.
2. Your Photo Library
TimeStamp! asks for access to your photo library. The game shows you photos from your library and uses the date and time each photo was taken to score your guesses.
Solo, Practice, and Daily Challenge
- Photos are displayed and processed on your device.
- Your photos are not uploaded to our servers in these modes.
Party Mode
Party Mode lets friends play the same round together. When you play a Party Mode round:
- The app picks photos from your library taken on the round's date and uploads small, compressed thumbnails (about 300×300 pixels) of those photos to our game server so the other players in your room can see them.
- Your display name and scores are also stored with the room.
- Everyone in the room can see these thumbnails, names, and scores. Room data can be accessed by anyone who has the room code, so only share your code with people you want to play with.
- If you don't want your photos shared, don't play Party Mode. Solo and Daily games never upload photos.
You can revoke photo access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → TimeStamp! The game needs photo access to work.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- Your email address, phone number, or contacts (unless you email us)
- Your location
- Health, biometric, or financial information
- Advertising identifiers. TimeStamp! does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.
TimeStamp! does not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
4. Apple Game Center
TimeStamp! optionally uses Apple Game Center for Daily Challenge leaderboards. If you sign in to Game Center, your Game Center name and scores are sent to Apple's leaderboard service, under Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn Game Center off in iOS Settings → Game Center. We never receive your Apple ID or payment information.
5. How We Use Information
We use Party Mode data only to run the multiplayer game: showing each round's photos, names, and scores to the players in that room. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose, and we do not look through it.
6. Service Providers and Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information is shared only with:
- Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore): hosts Party Mode rooms in the United States, under Google's Privacy Policy. Data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
- Other players in your Party Mode room: they see the round's thumbnails, names, and scores by design.
- Apple: Game Center scores, if you opt in.
- Legal authorities: only if required by law.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Party Mode photo thumbnails are replaced at the start of each round and deleted when the game ends.
- Rooms (display names, scores, and any thumbnails) are deleted automatically once they're more than 6 hours old. This is built into the latest version of TimeStamp!. Please keep the app updated.
- To have a room deleted right away, email andrewgmaxwell123@gmail.com with the room code and we'll delete it.
- Everything else TimeStamp! keeps (settings, streaks, and cached scores) is stored on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

8. Children's Privacy
TimeStamp! is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has shared information through Party Mode, email us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect the data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above.
