Privacy Policy

When you use TimeStamp!, the following categories of information may be collected:

• Photo Library Metadata: TimeStamp! requests access to your device's photo library solely to read timestamp metadata (date and time a photo was taken). This is used to generate gameplay rounds. We do not upload, store, or transmit your photos to our servers.
• Game Data: Scores, daily challenge results, settings, and gameplay progress stored locally and, where applicable, synced through Firebase to enable features like leaderboards and group sessions.
• Account Identifiers: If you sign in with Apple Game Center, we may receive a non-reversible Game Center Player ID. We do not receive your Apple ID or email address through this integration.
• Device & Diagnostic Data: Device model, operating system version, crash logs, and app performance data collected automatically by Firebase Crashlytics to help us improve stability.
• Usage Data: Anonymous analytics data (screens viewed, features used, session duration) collected by Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used.

• To generate and deliver gameplay rounds based on your photos' timestamps.
• To maintain and display leaderboard scores and daily challenge results.
• To enable group session features where multiple users play together.
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance and reliability.
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the app experience.
• To respond to your support requests.

TimeStamp! integrates the following third-party services, each of which operates under its own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google LLC) — Used for app backend, data storage (Firestore), authentication, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and usage analytics (Analytics). Firebase may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage data. Firebase Privacy Policy ↗

We do not control how these services handle data independently collected through their own SDKs.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: With third-party vendors (Firebase, Apple) that help us operate the app, under contractual obligations to protect your data.
• Legal Compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you if this occurs.

We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's services. Specifically:

• Game scores and progress: Retained for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
• Crash and diagnostic logs: Retained for up to 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics.
• Analytics data: Retained in aggregate, anonymized form for up to 14 months per Firebase's default retention policy.

You may request deletion of your data at any time via our Data Deletion page or by emailing us.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, under GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, under the CCPA you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold.
• Request deletion of personal information.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (see Section 7 below).
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information to third parties, as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide a mechanism to opt out before any such sale occurs.

The TimeStamp! mobile app does not use cookies. Our website (timestampgame.com) may use:

• Essential cookies: Required for basic website functionality. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Used via Firebase Hosting analytics to understand aggregate page traffic. No personal identifiers are attached.

You can control cookie preferences in your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the website.

TimeStamp! is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete the information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notice or email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
